Aside from looking great, having clean interiors can create a healthier environment for car. It will be safer when your parents or friends ride with you. Even if we clean ourselves everyday, if our surroundings are unclean, it will pose a risk on our health. Since we ride our cars to work, to the grocery or even to the mall, it is important that we keep it clean. The interior is the most critical area because it is where we sit throughout the ride.

Vacuuming

Take out your floor mats and vacuum the seats as well as the carpets. With the proper attachments, you can reach around the pedals, under the seats and even the sections between the central console and the front seats. It will make it easier to seep out dirt stuck in the farthest corners.

You can utilize a soft brush attachment for doors and dashboards. Be extra carful on the vents, sticking parts and knobs. You can also use this same attachment when vacuuming your seats. Since leather seats are fragile, make sure you do not accidentally scratch them with your vacuum hose.

Cleaning Door and Fabric Seat Upholstery

There are numerous kinds of upholstery cleaning agents available in the market. You can decide on what you prefer for your car upholstery. Although there are cleaning agents that make a lot of promises, your best bet is to go with a trusted brand that the majority uses.

Turtle Wax's spray cleaners are good. You can use it to evenly spray on your door and seat upholstery then rub it vigorously. After this, use a dry cloth to wipe it off thoroughly.

You can also use a laundry detergent for alternatives. Combine it with some water then dip a clean cloth in it. Make sure you squeeze it well but it is still barely moist when you use it. Work harder on the dirty sections. Once you are finished, dry it out using a dry soft and clean cloth.

Make sure you do not get water inside your car because it can get into the electrical components, resulting to problems. Aside from this, if the water gets into your seats or under your carpet, it can lead to stains, corrosion and mould smell.

Cleaning the Carpet

Similar to the method you used on cleaning your upholstery and seats, you can clean your carpets the same way. First, evenly spray your carpet with some caret cleaner and rub it vigorously. Use a dry cloth when wiping it. Laundry detergents also work well with carpets. Make sure you do not soak your carpet in water; it will lead to corrosion and mould smell. Finally, dry out your carpet.

Cleaning and Polishing the Dashboard

To clean the central console, dashboard and other plastic parts, you can just use a barely moist cloth. Utilize only small amounts of laundry detergent when removing stains. Then dry it with a dry, soft and clean cloth.
You can make it shiny by spraying plastic polish and evenly spreading it with a soft brush. Make sure you do not directly spray on your stereo. You can use a brush to do so. Afterwards, gently dry polish your dashboard. You can also use a dry, soft and clean cloth. It will make your dashboard shinier and will also protect the plastic. Periodically, you can just use a soft duster, ensuring that your dashboard will look brand new for a very long time.

Getting Rid of the Air Conditioner's Musty Smell

For unpleasant, musty smells from your air conditioner's vents when it is turned on, you can just buy odor treatment from your local auto accessories shop. It kills the mildew smell and the bacteria. A good brand is Wynn's. You simply spray it onto the outside air intake vent.

Another reason for the damp mildew smell can be a clogged air conditioner, drain tubes or an accumulation of debris under your cowl cover. You can just have your mechanic check on this the next time you have your oil changed.

For other auto cleaning and car washing issues, especially if you do not have the time to clean your car because of your very busy schedule, you can just take it to the nearest auto cleaner or car wash. I the US, the most trusted car wash chain is Auto Bell Car Wash. This was founded by Charles Howard Sr. in the year 1969. They have an ongoing promo which provides customers with unlimited full service washes for only $39.95 a month. This promo is available in all their locations. They cater to a large selection of car appearance services. /they aim to maintain your car's safety in an affordable price.

They offer several services. First is the full service wash. This includes vacuuming; exterior washing; window, mats, tires and wheel cleaning; wiping interiors and hand finished exteriors. They also have double polyprocess service. This is their exclusive service that requires a couple of steps of polishing and clear coating. This is designed for today's finishes. It also includes Auto Gloss to reduce surface tension and enhance the shine.

And third is the polish service done after the finish is cleaned. They make use of a special non-abrasive polishing agent that removes all minor scratches. After this, they will apply a sealer.

With so many cars on the road, it is only natural that there would be a number of interesting vehicles driving down streets near us. Interesting could mean a yellow Lamborghini, or a black Audi R8, but it could also be a 10-year-old Vauxhall Corsa with a mismatched body kit glued onto the bottom but, what about the inside of the car? The interior might not be instantly apparent when you are walking down the road, but if a car stops beside you, or you notice one in the car park, you might stop and stare. Don't forget to find cheap car insurance for your vehicle before you hit the streets.

Zebra Print

It seems to come in and out of fashion throughout the years, but zebra print in cars just appears on the bad side of tacky. Zebra print is even more shocking when it is in on a faux fur fabric, which surely can't be good when it comes to keeping your car clean.

Playboy Bunny

Strangely occupying the cars of young female drivers, the Playboy Bunny symbol is matched with pink, black and white car accessories. Wheel covers, seatbelt covers, and seat covers, the bunnies are adorned everywhere. The message emitted is not one of maturity, so it's best to steer clear of this one.

Hello Kitty

Sadly there is a full range of Hello Kitty accessories for the interior of your car. It's bright, it's garish, and it's certainly quite pink. If you fancy seeing a white cartoon cat all over your car, then you may indeed suit the Hello Kitty theme.

Leopard Print

Almost as bad as zebra print, leopard print in cars is still not very easy on the eyes. It is best suited for ex-Spice Girl Mel B (Scary Spice) or else on a leopard itself. Cars are probably best left to their original design, with your personality coming through with something small like fluffy dice or an air freshener.

Cars are rather expensive modes of transportation. We want to keep it clean to keep it always looking in good condition. We make sure it is waxed to keep it very shiny and looking like brand new all the time. We do not want to see scratches on the body, and we make sure it is handled carefully whenever we bring it to a repair or car center.

But this is just the exterior part of the car. Our cars may look beautiful outside but what about the inside? It is equally important that we keep the interiors clean. After all, we sit inside our cars for several hours a day as we drive to and from work. We sometimes let passengers ride with us also.

Keeping the exteriors clean may be for aesthetic reasons, but keeping the interiors clean is largely for health reasons. We want the air we breathe inside fresh and safe. We do not want any unpleasant odors throughout the ride. We do not want to catch bacterial or viral diseases brought about by dust or dirt.

Some car owners take their car into car wash and let them do all the interior and exterior cleaning but it cost them pretty much expensive than expected when doing it all by yourself.

Learn to clean your own car will save you a lot from paying for professional services. You could get useful tips from books or inquire in auto cleaning services to learn how to do it yourself. You will know the right strokes in cleaning the rims, tires, the seats, mats, dashboards and other parts of the car.

Cleaning your own car is a good exercise while you make sure you get rid of the pollutants that may affect you and your family. Here are some tips on cleaning the car interiors.

Vacuum the dirt that sticks to the floor mats and seat covers. Clear all trash and big items inside your car first before vacuuming. Empty your ashtray, remove floor mats and seat covers, with the help of soft brush attached to the vacuum swipe the floor and the seats up to the dashboard and doors. Just be careful when vacuuming the leather seats because it is very easy to get scratched and damaged.

Spray cleaners evenly on the seats up to the door and dashboard upholstery, rub it evenly afterwards. Keep it dry with the use of dry cloth. Laundry detergent is also one alternative in case a spray cleaner is not available. Just mix it up with warm water. Do not soak the seat with too much water it cause stains and will cause a bad smell.

Some seat covers are made out of different materials and it require proper washing instruction, same way with carpets but don't soak the carpets in water to avoid decay and mould smell. Dried them up with dryers of under the sun.

Clean the dashboard using wet cloth to gently remove stains and other sticky marks. Dry it with clean and soft cloth or towels. Afterwards spray a little plastic polish and spread it slightly with dry and soft cloth. Polish makes your dashboard shiny and it also protects the plastic cover.

Get rid out of foul smell coming from air conditioner. Check for clogs caused by dirt, a debris build-up, and leaves. Drain the tube. Clean the cowl cover and use antibacterial spray to prevent unpleasant scent.

Change oil regularly also. Otherwise it will also cause unpleasant smells to leak in the interiors. It smells bad especially with the air conditioner on. You could also put air fresheners for a more fragrant smell inside.

Many kinds of leading chemical, wax, polishes, and liquid paste help in cleaning and maintaining a good looking car. Some of these are Resin Glaze Wax, Metal Polish Cream, Liquid Glass Polish, Chrome Polish, Liquid Car Polish and the Cleaner Car Wax.

Other tools and cleaning accessories includes different sizes of brush, brooms, dust pans, flannel, drying cloths, rags, vacuum cleaner, dryer, bucket, car wash mop, squeegees, scrub sponge, wax applicator, car polishing and buffing bonnets.

Cover your car with canvas tarp or car cloth to protect it from heat and harsh weather whenever you park your car outside of your garage.

Why Do You Need Auto Interior Accessories?

By Chris Hartpence

Some people wonder why you would need additional auto interior accessories if you buy a new car. There are a number of reasons why it is a good idea. We all know that as soon as you drive a new automobile off the garage forecourt, it loses a lot of value. By keeping the interior in good condition you will get a higher resale price when you trade up. You won't overcome the whole loss you have made but it will help to reduce it a little.

Buying a one year old car often makes more financial sense than buying a new car. You do not have the immediate depreciation hit. If you can handle driving around in a slightly older model, you can use the money you save on adding various auto interior accessories such as a new sound system. Usually the stereo in a car is not its best feature. It is very easy to change and well worth doing. You can add a DVD player if the car doesn't already have one.

Investing in a window shield for your windscreen is a good idea. It will help reduce the sun damage on the dashboard and is also really easy to put in.

You can invest in custom made seat covers. They fit much better than universal ones and are usually made from higher quality materials. You may also want to get your windows tinted to help keep the car cool in the sunshine. People often think of investing in new wheels and body paint but the interior of your car will benefit from a little love and attention too.

Whatever type of auto interior accessories you want to purchase; there are fantastic deals available online. Check them out for yourself today and see how you can customize your motor without spending a fortune.

Why Should You Invest in Auto Interior Accessories?

By Chris Hartpence

Why should you invest in auto interior accessories? Simple answer is that they can prolong the life of your car. You don't need to worry about the upholstery becoming tatty if you invest in some car seat covers. They not only protect your car from the damage that sun rays can cause but also from pets, kids and adult passengers.

Floor mats are also a good idea to help to keep your car clean and tidy. You may want to add a steering wheel cover particularly if you live in a state with lots of sunshine as you may find the wheel gets very hot to touch. Some people will add additional mirrors to the interior. These can be useful if you are carrying small children and want to keep an eye on them but don't let it distract you from the road.

You can add style and glamor as well as your own personality to your vehicle by investing in a couple of different auto interior accessories. Some people don't like driving the same car as everyone else. Of course if you have the budget of Tom Cruise you don't need to worry about other people having exactly the same automobile. But for us normal folk, accessories are our way of making a normal car look unique.

Another inexpensive option is to upgrade the speakers in your car. You may want to invest in a whole new sound system if you really like your music. Cars are graded on how well they perform in road safety tests not on how well the music sounds. If you have some DIY skills you will be able to change out the speakers yourself. If not, you can get it done fairly cheaply at any garage. Shop around for the best deals on stereo systems and other auto interior accessories.

Car Interiors - Important As Ever

By James Rodham

If you like following the latest happenings of the automobile world, you must have noticed some of the emerging trends in this sphere lately. Among other things, manufacturers are now paying a great deal of attention towards car interiors.

Interiors have always been a major facet of modern cars but they have increasingly assumed a vital role in determining the success or failure of a vehicle in the market regardless of any other of its features. The importance of interiors can be highlighted by the fact that if you consider the recent upgrades of some of the well known cars today, the changes are mainly cosmetic and that too confined to the interiors only. I know of a few cars from major manufacturers that failed to do well because of poorly designed interiors.

Car manufacturers are spending fortunes on research and development trying to better the interiors of their existing models while focusing on designing innovative and uniquely refreshing interiors for their upcoming models that are technologically advanced aesthetically appealing.

There are a lot of factors that determine how good the interiors of a vehicle are. Among them, the chief factors are the look and feel of the cabin, the use of materials, the finish, the trims and upholstery, view from the cabin and cabin-space, gadgets, accessories and other features etc.

What good is a posh looking car that has poor interiors? Car interiors have always been important to woo buyers but in recent times, this concept has almost taken precedence over any other aspects of a car.

Modern cars now come equipped with high quality in-car electronics and gadgetry that comprises of digital instrument clusters, console styling and lighting, informative screens and navigational equipment, in-car entertainment systems, plush upholstery and trims and adjustable settings for almost every other feature of the car. It is hard to say what the perfect combination for a great car interior is, but there are a few car models in the market today that are turning out to be absolute eye-candies in this regard.

The next time you are interested in purchasing a vehicle, make sure you take a test drive first to analyze the interiors of the car. Each individual has his/her own tastes and what I prefer in my car cabin may not exactly be according to your liking. Most car manufacturers now offer the buyer a choice of many types of interior styles in a single car model. This includes custom built interiors that come in various colors with customized gadgetry, trims, seats and upholstery etc.

In the coming years fueled by innovations in car technology and design, we can expect some great looking car interiors that will surely sweep us off our feet. If you are buying a new car, you have a host of choices available now but in case you already have a vehicle, what can you do to improve the feel of its interiors?

You might have a snazzy looking car on the outside that delivers equally well on the performance front too but if the interiors are poor, you will never enjoy the drive as much as you would if your car had stylish, modern and comfortable interiors. Experts believe that car interiors directly influence one's perception of drive quality. No wonder we feel safe and comfortable in cars that have plush interiors. We are immediately drawn towards fancy gadgetry and stylish instruments in cars and that's what increases our attachment with the vehicle.

You can invest in a few gadgets and add a few features to your car that will definitely make your drive comfortable and the interiors of your car attractive.

Molded finish kits and panels can improve the looks of your car-interior dramatically. You can opt from a range of colors, textures and finish that suits your car. These kits are available online as well.

Leather seat covers can greatly enhance the interiors of your car giving it a grand look and a comfortable feel. It will be worth investing in leather seats if your car is not too old. You can add custom rubber mats and rugs that are not only aesthetically good but practical as well.

In-Car Entertainment system is a must have in cars these days. If you don't have one in your car, you should consider adding this accessory to make your drives pleasurable with the added ambience of music.

Navigation systems again are practical gadgets that can also add style to your vehicle. These devices are available with a range of features at attractive prices. Addition of digital gadgetry and information clusters is also one option that will surely increase the style quotient of your vehicle.

There are so many other options available for you to customize the interiors of your vehicle and enhance its appeal and now there is no excuse for having a car with poor interiors. If you have neglected the interiors of your car till today, well now is the time to make up for it.

Covercraft Car Cover: Know the Difference
I just don’t understand why people spend so much in buying cars
Like for instance purchasing quality car covers. Just what are the benefits that can be derived from car covers? First of all it protects the car specifically its paint finish from the elements and from too much exposure from the sun which you may think is quite harmless but in reality can ruin your car’s paint quickly.

In your search for quality car covers you will be introduced to the custom car cover experts like the Covercraft and Coverking. ---These two are brands reigning names in paint protection.

Covercraft has built its name in the car cover market by simply out patterning its competition the Coverking. Compared to its competition Covercraft offers more pattern choices for more vehicles than we can comprehend. Covercraft’s library of patterns involves more than one hundred model years.

These patterns are not the only reason why Covercraft is the leader in the car cover making business.

The Coverking may be trailing in position to Covercraft in terms of car cover popularity but in terms of quality it can very well compete with Covercraft. Unlike Covercraft, Coverking excel in providing patterns for popular vehicles that look and feel similar to a Covercraft car cover, and at present they have been able to find their own position in the business with unique items that include new fabrics, new colors, and new fits.

Although both started in Southern California, Covercraft had a two-decade jump on Coverking in the car cover business. Covercraft for its part was able to build tremendous brand loyalty with many customers draping quality covers on generations of valued vehicles.

Different patterns of car covers are one thing but fabrics are another aspect of the business in which the two companies really competes with each other.

Covercraft utilizes Kimberly-Clark fabric called the Noah to produce their mid-grade, mid-weight outdoor cover while Coverking make use of a 3-layer counterpart that has the same feel, look, and heft named Tri-Guard to make their car covers. Except for a few notable creations from Covercraft like its Sunbrella which is a heavy fabric originally designed for sunshade; in response to Covercraft Sunbrella, Coverking has created its StormProof with its single-layer untreated outdoor car cover

Size Car Bumpers not Strong Enough to Prevent Costly Damage

Posted: Tuesday, February 9, 2010

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has recently released a new crash tests and this time the main focus are car bumpers. According to the new crash tests revealed by the insurance industry, most bumpers especially on mid-size cars do little to prevent expensive damage to vehicles even in low-speed crashes say, 6 miles per hour. Further research revealed that most of the crashes happen in parking lots and commuter traffic.

The testing conducted by the Virginia-based Institute showed that only three midsize vehicles namely the Mitsubishi Galant, Mazda 6, and Toyota Camry were able to sustain lesser cost of repair amounting only to $1,500 for each of the four crash tests. The crash tests conducted were to review the extent of damage from front, rear, front corner and rear corner crashes.

According to Adrian Lund, the Institute’s president, “The cars with the lowest repair bills after our new bumper tests still sustained much more damage than they should have in some o fthe tests. We got crumpled grilles and headlights plus buckled fenders in impacts at speeds equivalent to an average person walking fast.”

There were seventeen midsize cars that were used for the low-speed tests. The Nissan Maxima together with Volkswagen Passat, Pontiac G6 and Hyundai Sonata suffered damages amounting to more than $4,000. The Institute has also done similar test on the 1981 Ford Escort and was amazed to found that the front end test only caused $86 in damages.

Such astounding performance of the 1981 Ford Escort according to the Institute is the result of the federal requirements that were in effect until 1982 that made it mandatory for bumpers to keep damage away from the vehicle’s sheet metal parts and safety equipment in crashes of up to 5mph. The Institute further stated that since 1982 the required test speeds have been cut in half which resulted to more damage.

According to automakers they are working to create designs for vehicles to resist low speed collision damage. Volkswagen of America Inc. exclaimed that “while low-speed collision repairs are an element of the total cost of ownership, we’re confident that Volkswagen products continue to provide exceptional customer value,” and that goes true to all the product range of Volkswagen both vehicles and auto parts such as Volkswagen wiper blade, etc.

Nissan also said that it believes that it’s Maxima “performs competitively in terms of cost of repair.” The Institute has also stressed that the tests conducted were only bumper tests and do not assess the passenger safety since serious injuries are uncommon in low-speed crashes.

Car Scratch Remover What You Need to Know About Avoiding the Most Common Type of Car Scratches

Posted: Monday, February 1, 2010

What you need to know about how to avoid the most common type of car scratch (swirl and spider). This article covers what to avoid and the single easiest way protect your car paint from the most common type of scratches that degrade the overall look of your paint finish. If you decide to remove micro swirl scratches yourself look for a car scratch remover designed to give professional results at home with a guarantee and good product support.

If you really want a shock pull your car in a garage under direct overhead fluorescent lighting and brace yourself for car paint scratches galore. The majority of swirls or spider scratches can be traced to a poorly maintained car finish that is not regularly waxed or sealed.

The 4 innocent things you may be subjecting your car to which causes a micro swirl car scratch are listed below.
  1. Automatic drive through car washes are hard on paint.
  2. Automatic car wash workers with poor hand drying technique and substandard towels.
  3. Using dish washing soap when washing your car at home.
  4. Not using a chamois or premium micro fiber towel to dry a car paint finish after washing. A high quality car washing shampoo is designed to gently lift dirt from car paint and leave behind luster enhancers that help protect the paint.

Pro trick to reduce the incidence of micro swirls after hand washing a car. Only use a chamois or micro fiber towels to dry car paint. Wipe the side of your car, side to side in a horizontal motion, not circles. Additionally, a professional quality car scratch remover designed for home use can remove fine micro spider scratches with great results.

Preferably a quality car sealant which bonds to the paint which will last longer and stands up to the environment much better than ordinary car wax. Properly sealed paint will resist all sorts of scratches because the paint is protected with a slippery barrier. A neglected paint finish allows dust, grit and substandard washing accessories to dig into the paint thus causing micro swirl automobile scratches.

The point is, using a high quality auto paint sealant makes your car so slippery that you can't even make a plastic fork bite in to cause car paint scratches. Simply using a high quality sealant on your car finish at least twice a year goes a long way to protecting your vehicle paint from typical micro swirl car scratches.

Car Scratch Remover How To Solve All Of You Car Scratch Removal Problems Once And For All
It is something that you might not consider as your first line of defense when trying to protect your car finish against car scratches and the need for car scratch removers to restore the finish.

Your first line of defense against ordinary scuffs, scratches, Mother Nature and car washes is a quality auto wax or sealant. Perhaps more importantly what do each bring to the table to help reduce the need for a car scratches remover.

A typical auto wax, is formulated from carnauba wax …you know the stuff that comes from trees in the rainforests. It is a natural product that has excellent water repellency, breathability, generates a nice luster, and natural UV protection.

Carnauba wax is great …for enthusiasts that enjoy the deep warm luster of a carnauba wax shine…and frequent wax applications because carnauba wax generally only protects for about 4-6 weeks!

Now enter the modern auto paint finish sealant. Chemist cleverly developed a synthetic formula that actually bonds chemically to the paint finish and lasts for 6-8 months! Some purists feel that sealants do not have the same warm glow of pure carnauba wax…I tend to agree. To that end those clever chemist decided to make hybrid sealants that have pure carnauba wax blended in…perhaps the best of both worlds. The carnauba still only last for 4-6 weeks however the sealant keeps on protecting for 6-8 months.

So if you really want to, you can use plain carnauba wax every once and a while to get a nice shine that only carnauba wax can do. In fact this is exactly what many modern day car enthusiasts do …a base coat of a quality sealant…and pure carnauba wax from time to time for that hand waxed look.

How To Do Leather Detailing And Color Matching Properly For Your Vehicle

Posted: Thursday, January 28, 2010

Cars with leather interiors need detailing on a regular basis to look half-decent.

American leather comes with a durable vinyl coating and refinishes and re-colors well. Seats that look like a detailed road map do well to be restored and this increases the resale value of a car by several hundreds of dollars.

To properly detail your leather seats, first thoroughly clean all leather panels to be restored. Once you have achieved your level of surface smoothness, seal all of the cracks and sanded areas using a water-based leather sealer or primer. Be diligent in this process, as if the leather is not sealed adequately it will absorb moistness and then stiffen.

You can re-color or re-coat water based leather using vinyl paint. The result is highly flexible. The gloss can be adjusted with a duller or gloss reducer additive. Begin with the lightest color of the pigment structure which is White, then yellow (90% of time it is yellow,) then black. This helps to dirty up the mix a little bit. The eye matches best! For practical reasons it is a good idea to work on both colors and repairs. Do some good damage to your practice piece and then work to repair and re-color it.

If you don't feel comfortable doing leather detailing or color matching yourself you can always find a detail shop to do it for you.

Trends in Car or truck Customization

Posted: Sunday, January 24, 2010

From dashboard covers to seat modifications and floor matting, trends in customizing cars, SUVs, and trucks are booming increasingly.

While standard car interiors are very much acceptable to anyone’s standards, their color and design scheme tend to get boring over time. Adding a personal touch to a car or an SUV’s interior, say custom seat covers, can definitely add some oomph to a car’s value and appeal.

The latest trend in modified custom seat covers include camouflage patterns that give cars an army vibe, snakeskin seat coverings that create an exotic feel, and, for the family man, adjustable toddler travel seat with custom seat covers that have infant designs and squiggles. There are many designs and materials a car owner can choose from if he wants to make some major adjustments with the theme of his car custom seat covers. Then there are those who try bolder alternatives in changing the inside feel of a car when it comes to car seats --- replacing the seats themselves, not just the covers.

Some of the latest models include:

• Sprint racing-inspired car seats;
• Go-Kart race seats;
• Drift racing car seats.

But while car seats and their covers and designs are perhaps the most apparent detail inside a car, the dashboard is also up to get some attention. Customizing dashboard covers is one way of complementing a car’s or truck’s seat covering schemes. Regardless of the car owner’s expertise in dismantling and rearranging the insides of his vehicle, experts suggest that changing dashboard covers be done by professionals.

Wise drivers know that over time, cheap dashboard covers may fray, and it is advised to use dashboard coverings made of needlepoint carpet or velour mats. Customizing a vehicle’s interior also includes branded and custom floor mats for cars, trucks, and SUVs. Trends in floor mats for trucks and cars include having them modified. Other floor covers include all-weather floor mattings, and carpet-like floor mats.

Just like window shades, floor mats come in different designs and colors. Finding the right floor mats that will fit your car’s theme will not be hard. Lastly, it is important to invest on affordable seat covers to protect your new car’s seats. Using seat covers keeps your new car seats’ upholstery from stains, rips or scratches. Nice seat covers also add to the beauty of your car. If your car is a bit older, seat covers will also help cover the car seats’ defects.

If you taxi around kids or pets a set of seat covers will give you peace of mind.

Car seat covers come in different colors, designs and prints. You can find seat covers from zebra and leopard patterns to solids and Hawaiian prints. So no matter what the model or color of your car, you will surely not have a hard time finding the right seat cover for your car.

Wiper Blades and Ski Racks, Top Winter Time Auto Products

Posted: Tuesday, January 12, 2010

I wanted to select one every-day product that almost every driver could use, and another lifestyle oriented product. Something As Simple As New Wiper Blades?

Whether you live on the East, West, South Coast…. Or reside in Fargo North Dakota, every vehicle has a set of wiper blades that endure a heavy workload when it rains or snows. This is a product that many overlook and rarely look to improve.

New wiper blades can enable for much clearer vision of the road. As if the slick roads weren't dangerous enough, vision is impaired during bad road conditions. New blades are easy to find in local part store and on online for discount prices that are likely better than local part stores. Go with a top name brand, you'll be surprised to see the difference in effectiveness from cheap blades to high quality blades. PIAA, Rain X, Trico & Bosch are trusted brand names.

What's All The Rack-it?
For my second recommended product, I did research to see what the most popular activity was during the winter. It may sound obvious to you, but I was surprised to hear that skiing was the top activity. When I think about skiing, I picture that classic 80's movie “Ski School” and all of the funny things that they did to win the competition at the end of the movie. So the perfect auto product to fit this activity would have to be ski racks. Most people don't ski by themselves; they go with family and friends.

The solution; throw a rack on the roof and strap those skis down! Many fit both skis and snowboards. Same idea applies here as for wiper blades. You don't want to see those expensive skis flying off the roof, and you certainly don't want the skis falling out of the racks and dinging your precious ride. Thule and Yakima make trusted products, and many newer sport oriented vehicles come with their racks straight from the manufacturer.

I once purchased cheap soft-surf racks and regretted it.

Omg, I Need New Wiper Blades!
Golf ball-sized rain droplets are pounding on your windshield. Most experts say you should replace your wiper blades every six to twelve months for optimum performance and driving visibility. Halogen-hardened rubber and synthetic rubber provide longer life, but eventually fall victim to environmental factors as well. Your wipers are exposed to nature’s elements 100% of the time. Exposure to sunlight and ozone will cause the rubber to age, even if you barely use your wipers.

If the wipers are chattering, streaking or otherwise failing to wipe cleanly and consistently, you need new blades -- Pronto!

But what really happens to wiper blades over time?
Cold weather can also affect your blades’ life. Freezing temperatures make rubber hard and brittle, increasing the tendency to crack and split. For you snowy drivers, your wipers can become clogged with ice and snow, preventing the holder from distributing spring tension evenly over the blade. Driving in the snow is hard enough.

Heavy use can take a toll on your wiper blades, too. Dust, abrasives, road grime and even bug juice wear away the edge that allows the blades to wipe cleanly. As blades lose their edge, water gets under the blade and remains on the glass. The result is reduced visibility and poor wiping action.

If your blades are chattering, streaking or doing a lousy job of wiping, it is time for a replacement. Blades are cheap and easy to replace.

You should also check your windshield washer system. Do the nozzles need adjusting? The vehicle may have a weak washer pump, or a clogged, kinked or loose hose.
The wiper blade performance depends on the condition of the wiper arms and holders. The amount of spring tension on the wiper arm, the number of pressure points or claws that hold the blade, and the design of the blade itself all affect the blade’s wiping ability. If the springs in the arms are worn out, the wipers may not be pressing firmly enough to wipe your windshield clean. In this case, replacing the blades won’t make any difference because the problem is weak arms not bad blades.

Should You Use Professional Car Care Products?

Posted: Friday, January 8, 2010

When talking with most car owners, whether their ride is a daily-driver or a show-car, most have an opinion on the type of car care products to use. Today it seems that “New and Improved” is a requirement for printing any product label.

Who hasn’t gone to a department store, paid $8 for a bottle of wax and sacrificed most of a Saturday cleaning and waxing their car? Today, on any “Wax Wall”, there is a myriad of choices, all in slick packaging competing for your hard earned dollars.

So, what separates the retail and professional car care products besides slick packaging and marketing? Think about this simple fact: If Auto Dealers and Professional Detailers could get products of similar quality in the Auto Parts and Department Store Chains, why wouldn’t they? Simple -because time is money and results matter.

Let’s look at a Professional Detailing business. You hire them to clean and detail your car for a fixed price. Professional Detailers have three major challenges. First, their time is their most valuable asset for earning a living. Secondly, if your car is not looking good for a time after the detail, you won’t go back to them and they have lost a customer.

If the results aren’t astonishing, they won’t get any referrals. The bottom line is that they need products that are fast, easy to use, get great results and last. If they don’t use professional car care products, they will not be in business very long.

Now let’s look inside an Auto Dealership. They take your car in trade when you by a new one. The dealership has similar needs to the Professional Detailer - products that get great results in a minimal amount of time. They only want to clean and detail that particular car one time.

The major difference of retail and professional car care products is usually based on amount of quality ingredients used in the formulations. It might make sense to choose a retail product over a professional car care product to save $5. But, it might make more sense to get better results in less time that last longer and opt for a guaranteed, professional product.

Another bonus when purchasing professional car care products is that these companies are used to serving professionals and are well versed in car care. Consider your choices when buying retail or professional car care products. Factor in what’s important to you – cost, time, and results.
